Happy Halloween

Hope you all had a great time.

Fall Wedding in New England

I’m baacck!

I spent this last week in beautiful New England. I had the privilege to attend a family wedding. It was a gorgeous fall wedding and the bride was one of the most beautiful brides I’ve ever seen.

The peak color season was pretty much over when I arrived.

Holding hands at the wedding rehearsal.

I loved the fall color flowers against the white and pumpkin colored dresses.

This bouquet was made by yours truly. We had to quickly make a tossing bouquet, so I ran to the store and whipped this one together.

Sweet little flower girl basket

The bride’s bouquet with amazing dark calla lilies.

There were candied apples as party favors and we danced up a storm.

The time flew and now I’m home with major jet lag. I can’t believe that a three hour difference can take such a toll.

Hope you all had a great week.

More Fall and See You All Soon

I'm going to be away from my blog for a week, but wanted to leave you all with some Fall eye candy.

I received these amazing roses from Hubby this morning, They are my favorite spray roses in orange! I've never seen them in this color before.

The only way to end your cozy Fall evenings . . . pumpkin and spice scented candles.

Pumpky whimsy. These little guys are always up to something.

Wishing you all a beautiful week. See you soon . . .

October Dreaming

I dream of traveling to a far off land. Can anyone guess where?

I found this photo through tumblr. I didn’t find the credit for the photo. I normally don’t post photos that are not my own, but I love this one and had to share it with you all. If anyone knows who is responsible for this amazing photo, I would love to know.

Orange ~ 31 Days ~ and Apple Crisp

What would fall be like without orange? It’s a color I’m not naturally drawn to. During this season it has free reign in my home.

My neighbor was tossing out these wonderful Chinese lanterns. I caught her just in time.

I’m feeling better and want to say thank you to all of my wonderful blogging friends who wished me well. While I was laid low, I came across The Inspired Room’s 31 Days series. The bloggers participating in this event are so very real. If you haven’t had a chance to visit yet, I encourage you to. Here are links to my two favorite posts (so far):

Take care of yourself . . .

These are the Days of Grace

A favorite fall recipe for you: Apple Crisp ~ à la Fete et Fleur

6 apples
1 cup of oats
1/3 cup of flour
2/3 cup of white sugar
1/2 cup of butter
Cinnamon
Ginger
Vanilla

Heat oven to 350 degrees and butter a glass baking dish. I use a 10x6 glass dish.

The Apple Part:

Peel and cut the apples into small squares. Put the apple pieces in a bowl and add 2 tablespoons of white sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste) of cinnamon, and 1/8 teaspoon of ginger. Stir it all together and set aside.

The Crisp Part:

Melt the butter.

In another bowl, combine:

1 cup of oats
1/3 cup of flour
2/3 cup of white sugar
The cup of melted butter
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon of ginger
1 teaspoon of vanilla

Stir until crumbly.

Now stir the apples one last time and pour them into the buttered baking dish. Cover the apples with the crisp. Pat the crisp evenly over the apples and pop the whole thing into the oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until the top is a golden color and the apples are soft.

This is yummy served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

ENJOY!

Happy Weekend!

I put out the last of my fall decorations this afternoon. I’m feeling a bit under the weather so this perked me up a bit. I’ll finish decorating this weekend with a few fresh mini pumpkins, gourds and baby corns.

Have a Happy Weekend!
