Summer Fun

We've been visiting the beach as often as we can.
A sweet gray seal poked its nose out of the ocean waves and then its head.
What a cutie!

I was so excited to find these vintage party balls from Italy.
They're so much fun to decorate with.
It feels like a celebration every day with them.

Gorgeous natural quartz candle holder.
It sheds a lovely warm light with plenty of sparkle.

I hope you're all having a glorious summer.

It's been a long time since I have stopped by any blog and I am happy to have found yours again. :) The vintage paper decorations remind me of of party decor we would use as kids. Lovely ~

Bonjour Nancy! That seal...oh dear, what a darling creature! We went to the local zoo one summer and were watching the sea lions play. One guy got a bit too much water in his lungs and coughed up a storm that made everyone laugh so hard; I don't think it was fun for him, but he sure put on a show for us! teeehee

OH the ocean. I missed it this year, for we were planning to travel to Carmel this summer, but too many work-related responsibilities cropped up. But it has been a splendid summer of writing poetry and learning how to take better photos. If you wish, do come by my next post where you will see some photos I took last week with Irina, while we visited a most lovely place here in the Twin Cities. OH, did you like my photography attempts of the roses, the tussy mussy and the silver? Your quartz and other lovelies here at stunning. LOVE YOU!

Bonjour Nancy!

Thank you for coming to visit my post. Yes, we had a blast at the American Swedish Institute (and there are many more castles and such in the area to visit!)

You asked about my camera. I have a Canon REBEL T2i with no special lens. The magic is in PHOTOSHOP that I have been slowly learning how to use. It's not very easy to understand, but for my purposes, I can use the "curves, hue and saturation, gamma adjustment" and a few other functions to get the lightness I want. Plus, I have learned to do as you have done so beautifully for years: FOCUS and take different angles of specific objects. What a difference it makes!

Lady, I think my dementia is growing worse. I check in here periodically and hadn't seen any new entries.
Regardless, I'm happy to see this new post, full of beauty, enchantment, and all things 'Nancy.'
Even that adorable seal was happy to pose for you :)

Enjoy the rest of this gorgeous summer, my friend!

Off to read your previous entry.

I'm taking another look at your carefree summer photos. All of which should come with the warning: "These photos may cause extreme giddiness."

Enjoy every minute of this fleeting summer, my friend!

Your seal friend is a cutie. That ocean looks so inviting. I love to just sit and watch the ocean's movement, so mesmerizing.

Those Italian party balls are lovely. I love their soft colors.

Hello dear Nancy!

Your images of the ocean are exhilarating...I do miss it.
Sweet, darling little seal!

How are you doing, my friend?
It seems that Autumn has arrived here...the leaves are turning much too early.

The Italian "puffs" you found are so delicious and pretty! Love the sparkles of the quartz...
Have a beautiful week!
Love and hugs,
- Irina
